Cannabigerolic Acid (CBGA)

Cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) is a precursor compound in the biosynthesis of cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It is often referred to as the “mother cannabinoid” or the “stem cell” of cannabinoids because it serves as the starting point from which other cannabinoids are synthesized.

CBGA is produced in the trichomes of the cannabis plant, where it is enzymatically converted into other precursor cannabinoids through a process known as biosynthesis. These precursor cannabinoids include cannabigerolic acid (CBGA), tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), cannabidiolic acid (CBDA), and cannabichromenic acid (CBCA), among others.
